MSD Physical Campuses Closed for Remainder of 19-20

Dear Moraga School District Staff and Families,

This afternoon, a joint press release announced, “With the support and collaboration of the public health officers in their respective counties, Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, San Mateo, Santa Clara, and San Francisco county superintendents announced the decision to extend the campus closures to students through the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year. All schools will continue to transition from in-person classroom instruction to at-home and distance learning formats.” You can read the full press release here

Based on this information, the Moraga School District will remain closed for the remainder of the 2019-20 academic year.  I know that this situation has been challenging, but our health experts continue to remind us that following the stay-at-home order and practicing strict physical distancing are the two best ways to slow the transmission of this virus.

While our physical campuses will not reopen, MSD staff will continue to support students in a virtual learning environment and deliver distance learning plans to ensure that all students meet essential grade level expectations.

The safety of our staff and students remains our top priority.  Thank you for the continuous support you have given our staff.   Your messages, encouragement and partnership are appreciated.

Sincerely,

Bruce K. Burns

Superintendent
